New gaming software cuts cost of viral marketing campaigns
LONDON - A new viral marketing platform that allows agencies to rent customised flash games for their digital campaigns is to be launched by software firm Contagion next month.
Through Contagion, media or creative companies can create customised flash games that can be used on a rental basis, which Contagion claims is the first platform of its kind.
Designers can upload artwork and manage add-ons, such as detailed analytics, leagues or prize pyramids. The programme can also integrate with other technology, such as email campaigns.
Stuart Forrester, Contagion CEO, said: "Viral games or adver-games are expensive to create, requiring the input of specialist Java/Flash programmers. Typically no agency keeps this type of programmer on staff, and so a simple game can cost many thousands to produce in contractor's fees.
"Any game may not run for that long, as the marketing concept soon becomes old or poorly supported."
