Have a little heart...

The British Heart Foundation has rolled out its first Facebook application as part of a Valentine's Day campaign.

The application allows users to send gifts such as a kiss, virtual girlfriend or boyfriend and a cake to friends.

The national health charity has also launched a podcast, A Day in the Life of a BHF Heart Nurse, which can be downloaded from the BHF site or the iTunes online store. Listeners can hear about the role of a BHF heart nurse and listen to patients stories.

The charity is attempting to raise £1m through the initiatives to help and support more heart patients and their families.

Users can also purchase Valentine's Day gifts including photo frames and jewellery from the charity's online shop.
