Googlepedia?

Google is developing a user-generated online encyclopaedia to rival Wikipedia

The search giant has named the project 'Knol' from the word meaning 'unit of knowledge' according to a blog by Google's engineering vice president Udi Manber.

Google is planning to host the service and provide the tools to edit web pages but will not edit or be responsible for any of its content.

Manber wrote, "Our goal is to encourage people who know a particular subject to write
an authoritative article about it. The goal is for knolls to cover all topics, from scientific concepts, to medical information, from geographical to historical, to entertainment from product information, to how-to-fix-it instructions."
